Honored Beyond Words: A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers
In October, Bradley Parker received a call from a South Texas attorney who left a message about a “new matter.” Other attorneys often reach out with cases they want to refer or when they need local counsel in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, however this attorney wasn’t calling about a case. Instead, she informed Parker that he had been nominated for induction into the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). Parker says, “It was a moment I will never forget. To be inducted into the ACTL at this stage in my career, and at such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, is not just an honor—it is the honor of a lifetime.”
The ACTL is no ordinary organization. It is an invitation-only association comprising some of the most exceptional trial lawyers from the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Since its founding in 1950, it has earned a reputation as the leading professional trial organization in North America. Dedicated to excellence, the College works to elevate trial practice, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and thoughtful commentary on key legal issues.
It is a staunch advocate for judicial independence, trial by jury, the rule of law, access to justice, and fair representation for all in the legal system. In short, it’s where the best of the best come together to uphold and advance the core values of our justice system.
Let’s consider the numbers for a moment: Out of the 1.4 million attorneys in North America, less than 1% have the privilege of being Fellows of the ACTL. Parker later learned just how thorough the vetting process was. After gathering extensive information about his past trials, the College reached out to judges he has appeared before and opposing counsel he has litigated against. They didn’t just ask about his abilities as a trial lawyer, they sought insight into his ethics, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality—qualities that are the very foundation of the ACTL.
Parker’s legal assistant of 27 years later admitted that she’d been contacted about a year earlier for information on his trial history. Reflecting on this meticulous review process, it became clear that the nomination wasn’t just about legal skills—it was about character, reputation, and trustworthiness. During the black-tie induction ceremony at the Grand Wailea in Maui on March 6-9, a speaker perfectly encapsulated the significance of this honor: “You are recognized as professional and skilled trial lawyers of the highest ethical conduct who are trusted on your word.”
Parker says, “Being part of an organization that upholds these values is both humbling and inspiring. This recognition isn’t just a celebration of my career—it’s a call to continue striving for excellence in advocacy, ethics, and professionalism. I am honored to stand among such a distinguished group of legal professionals, and I eagerly look forward to participating in ACTL events and initiatives.”
Since 1985 Parker’s firm has fervently defended those who have been seriously injured in major trucking and motor vehicle accidents, by dangerous drugs and medical devices, in aviation accidents and industrial catastrophes, or whose lives have been seriously disrupted or even destroyed by the bad faith conduct of an insurance company.
He also has a collection of awards, including an A.V. rating by Martindale-Hubble (the highest awarded for ethical conduct and merit) and repeated recognitions as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters as published in Texas Monthly and an Attorney Worth Knowing by Fort Worth, Texas magazine.
Parker has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law since 1997, an honor held by less than 2 percent of the lawyers licensed to practice in Texas. It’s Parker’s sense of duty and unique ambition to defend those that cannot adequately defend themselves that merit his well-deserved reputation for zealous representation of his clients.
