Is There an Auto Insurance Requirement in Texas?
The minimum insurance requirements in Texas are $30,000 per person per incident up to $60,000. Each person driving on the road is supposed to have an insurance policy that will pay someone who they injure up to $30,000. It will also pay if there are two people in the car or even three, four or five, up to $60,000 divided between all the occupants of the vehicle. That is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. Especially if you are seriously injured and spend an extended period of time in the hospital.
