In November, Parker Law Firm kicked off its Second Annual Food Drive in an effort to help Euless, Bedford and Hurst residents stressed by food scarcity.

Hunger is a pervasive problem in the North Texas community, according to the North Texas Food Bank, with more than 800,000 people across NTFB’s 13-county service area reporting as “food insecure.”

  • That’s one in six people.
  • One in every four kids in North Texas is food insecure – almost 300,000 children
  • In North Texas, 1 in 6 food-insecure households is home to a veteran
  • 2/3 households that the North Texas Food Bank serves reports having to choose between food and paying medical care

So, we wanted to see how we could make a difference.

In 2017, we raised nearly 130 pounds of food, and, this year, we wanted to achieve even more. This year, we donated the items to 6stones, which focuses on helping the people in the HEB area.

During November and part of December, we all brought in food. We focused on providing a range of items to provide a full meal with a focus on protein, such as canned meat and beans. Additionally, we throw in a few treats, because even people who need help like a little chocolate.

How did we do? Watch to see how many pounds of food we donated.
