The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released its findings on the number of injury claims based on the make and model of the vehicle. According to the report, the Toyota Yaris was involved in more vehicle claims than any other make and model of care.

The data used for the report are from insurance claims forms filed from 2009 to 2011. Injury claims for the Toyota Yaris were 28.5 to every 1000 vehicles. The next in line was the Suzuki SX4 with 26.16 out of 1000 vehicles. The rest were the Chevrolet Aveo at 26, Mitsubishi Gallant with 25.4, Kia Rio at 24.9, Nissan Versa with 24.6, Hyundai Accent at 24.6, Nissan Sentra at 23 and Chevrolet Aveo with 22.3.

The cars with the least amount of claims were the Porsche 911 with 4.5 out of 1000 vehicles, the Chevrolet Corvette with 5.4, Chevrolet Silverado at 5.5, the Jeep Grand Cherokee at 6; Lexus LX 570 and the Mercedes Benz SL-Class with 6, The Chevrolet Silverado and Land Rover/,Range Rover are both ranked at 6.2 and, finally, the last vehicle is the Cadillac Escalade at 6.4.
